Insanity:
This is the program that first introduced me to the world of Beachbody.  I've mentioned in prior blogs that I thought since I had been working out a lot before I tried this program that I could easily do it.  Well...I tried and failed the first time.  I made it through half of the program and when Shaun T stepped it up even more in month 2, I gave up.  I was able to re-start and finish this program with the help of 813 Fit Club.   Now that I am an "official" graduate of the program ( I earned the free t-shirt!), I LOVE this program.  Don't get me wrong, it is still ridiculously hard at times, but I know how to pace myself better and can enjoy the workout more.  I wouldn't recommend this to someone that is just starting to workout.  I think you will get discouraged easily (just like I did) and won't be successful.    I love Shaun T's way of motivating and encouraging.  He isn't annoying or makes you feel like you aren't doing your best.   He talks to you a lot and gets you to "DIG DEEPER" every time.  If you want to see a video that gives a glimpse of some of the workouts, check out the link below.

ChaLean Extreme:

After I graduated from Insanity I moved onto ChaLean Extreme.  I LOVED this program from day 1.  It is a mix of weight training and cardio based workouts.  Chalene Johnson's goal in this program is to help you build lean muscle so you can burn more fat.  The workouts were hard, but manageable.  This program was a month longer than Insanity (90 vs 60 days).  Each month, you changed the types of moves you were doing and increased the weight.  I gained a lot of strength during this program.  I really like Chalene too.  Like Shaun T, she has a way of motivating that is positive, but lets you know she means business!  I will definitely be doing another round of this program once I finish some others on my list.  Again, if you are interested, check out the video link below!

Les Mills Combat:
I am in week 3 of this program and I really think it is my "soulmate" workout.  I look forward to every single one and push myself harder than I have in any other program.  The moves are easy to get the hang of and the trainers are amazing.  Another HUGE plus for me is the music.  I don't know about you, but I have to have music when I work out and this plan has some of the best I've heard in various programs I've done.  I've even figured out the names of a lot of them and downloaded them on ITunes so I can listen to them when I run.  This is a 60 day program.  I decided to go with the Ultimate Warrior Hybrid plan, which has the most variety and workouts included.  Most of the program is full of boxing, kickboxing, muay tai, karate, etc.  But with the Ultimate Warrior you also get  core, stretch, lower body toning and upper body toning workouts.  I'm only on week 3 and I can already see some MAJOR definition in my back and arms from all the punching.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!
Unfortunately, I don't have a video for Combat, so I'm including a link to my BB website so you can see what you get with this program.  Just search for Les Mills Combat and you will find all the options available.
